1. INTRO

With the glorious drone of cicadas outside my office window, this must be autumn... and that means I am about to head out on the road for a two month tour...

But first, a quick newsletter with two main points on interest:

A) DREKKA will be heading to support the new full-length LP on DAIS RECORDS, 'Ekki gera fikniefnum,'. I have held aside a couple dozen copies of the LP to bring with me.
B) To help support the tour, DAIS RECORDS has released a special tour cassette, entitled 'Don't Make the Drugs Live To Regret This'. LTD to 100 copies, I will only have a dozen copies to sell along side the LP on tour, so grab them quick!

For those not on the tour route, I have added a small amount of the new live cassette to the DREKKA BANDCAMP, included a bundle deal for the LP and cassette at a special price... but only twelve of these deals are available, so grab one quick!

The cassette is also available directly from DAIS RECORDS

After I return from the tour, winter will be close behind and I plan on finishing up the next LP for DAIS, as well as archiving material for the next couple 'Collected Works' 2CD sets and putting more of the out-of-print releases up on the Bandcamp.

For now, I hope to see some of you on the road... and if you write for a blog or site and would like to do a little piece about the tour to help spread the word... please, get in touch.

3. DREKKA - DON'T MAKE THE DRUGS LIVE TO REGRET THIS (C-26)

DAIS RECORDS has released a new live cassette to coincide w/ this tour.

Pro-dubbed in an edition of 100 copies w/ hand-printed and numbered jcards designed and printed by DREKKA.

The tape features two 13 minute pieces, sculpted from various live performances along the May 2014 US tour.

Earlier this year, Dais released the stunning ethereal sound sculpture Ekki Gera Fikniefnum by outsider artist Drekka, which promptly received much long overdue praise and admiration. After its release, Drekka embarked on a tour around the Midwest & Northeast of the United States to tell his story reflecting upon his own history and fictional sound narration. Various live recordings were made during this tour, thus allowing us to put together a special limited edition cassette with special highlights capturing Drekka at his most fragile state...the performance act. Limited to 100 copies in the cassette format, each hand numbered with double-sided silkscreen covered by Michael Anderson himself.
